General Treatments

At Hermes London Dental Clinic, we have a wide range of dentistry treatments to keep your teeth looking and feeling healthy.

During every appointment with us, we’ll give you a full dental checkup and we will check the condition of your mouth, teeth and gums. We’ll also check for any potential problems that you need to be aware of and offer advice accordingly. If there are any causes for concerns, we can recommend suitable treatments.

Our General Treatments

Our general dentistry covers a range of preventative and restorative treatments designed to care for and protect your teeth, whether it be for practical reasons or if you need emergency dental care.

Root Canal Therapy

Need a root canal? If your tooth is causing you a lot of pain, it may be caused by an infection spread through the root canal system. This will require you to have root canal therapy, otherwise, your tooth may need to be removed. As a skilled and time-consuming procedure, root canal treatment can involve two or more visits to the dentist.

Many patients that visit us have the assumption that root canal treatments are excruciatingly painful, which is why patients will put off visiting us until it’s too late. This isn’t true, as an infected tooth is what makes the experience painful and uncomfortable, while root canal treatment simply takes away the pain and restores the tooth.

Using specific techniques and advanced equipment, you will receive a local anaesthetic and the treatment overall should feel no different to having an ordinary filling placed. We aim to make the treatment as comfortable as possible so that any discomfort is minimal.

Emergency Dental Care

As an emergency dentist, we offer a same day service for all dental emergencies from toothache to lost or broken crowns, chipped teeth and fillings to abscesses, trauma, avulsed teeth and a swollen face.

Regardless of the reason for your emergency dental treatment, the sooner you see a dental professional, the more affordable and straight-forward your treatment will be.

It’s very important that you seek emergency dental care immediately rather than waiting. We can take care of your injuries to ensure you heal quicker and more effectively, so you avoid additional dental problems in the future.

Pregnant Women

Pregnancy can be an exciting time, however, many pregnant women experience dental problems due to their pregnancy, including sore teeth, swollen gums or tooth erosion caused by long-lasting morning sickness.

Changes in hormones can affect your oral health during pregnancy and many pregnant women notice that their gums are red, inflamed and sometimes bleed when they brush their teeth. The swelling and inflamed gums are referred to as ‘pregnancy gingivitis’ and can start as soon as the second month of pregnancy.

If you are pregnant we recommend that you come to the practice for a thorough check-up so we can help you to have a healthy and happy pregnancy.

Looking for dental treatments during pregnancy? Here are some of the dental treatments that are safe during pregnancy.

Jaw Problems

Suffering from pain or discomfort in the jaw? Your answer may be to visit your dentist for a check-up, who can refer you to a specialist if necessary. We do advise visiting sooner rather than later as these problems usually worsen over time.

Jaw problems are generally easy to treat, however, if your jaw pain is caused by missing teeth or other dental problems, you may require dental implants, orthodontic treatment or maxillofacial surgery.

Snoring

Is your snoring keeping you or your partner awake at night? No matter how many at-home methods you may try, the snoring never fully goes away. However, snoring can generally be sorted through dentistry.

We can pinpoint the cause of your snoring and through surgery, mouthpieces or oral devices, we are able to lessen the noise or stop it altogether for better breathing and a better nights sleep.

Tooth Extractions

Need to have a tooth removed due to advanced tooth decay or an impacted wisdom tooth? Depending on your particular case and the severity of your problem, you will be given anaesthetic and offered sedation if you are feeling anxious.

We have the right equipment and sterile environment to carry out tooth extractions for a quick and comfortable treatment and recovery.
